We are back again for another weekly round-up of consulting M&A news. There have been a few deals that we need to talk about this week including acquisitions by firms such as NTT Data, MNP, and much more. So, let’s get straight into those deals!
#1. Aurecon adds Market Advisory Group to its sustainability practice
Aurecon, a multinational design, engineering, and consulting firm, has acquired Market Advisory Group, a 15-people strong boutique consultancy specializing in carbon market services.
The Market Advisory Group was founded in 2018 and provides services to a variety of organizations, including corporations (including a dozen ASX 100 clients), governments, financial institutions, and consulting firms.
Speaking about the deal, the CEO of Aurecon stated that this deal builds on a successful working relationship between the two firms. Moreover, with the addition of carbon market expertise, Aurecon will be able to offer an end-to-end decarbonization offering to its clientele.
#2. NTT Data acquires Atlanta-based Aspirent
NTT Data, a global IT consulting firm, has agreed to buy Aspirent, an Atlanta-based data, analytics, and advising organization. The transaction is anticipated to close by mid-November.
Aspirent, an employee-owned company founded in 2012, offers consulting services in a variety of areas, including governance, digital product development, program and product management, data strategy, technology road-mapping, technology due diligence, data engineering and warehousing, and change management.
The acquisition of Aspirent by NTT Data will expand and strengthen the firm’s analytics and advisory capabilities.
#3. J.S. Held acquires cybersecurity firm TBG Security
A global consulting company named J.S. Held has purchased a Franklin, Massachusetts-based cybersecurity business called TBG Security.
TBG Security, founded in 2003, offers clients in the healthcare, financial services, retail and consumer products, as well as business and technology services, both offensive and defensive cybersecurity consulting services. Engineers, risk analysts, and cybersecurity architects with the company provide guidance on compliance solutions, cloud security, vendor risk management, data breach protection, information security, and incident response planning and support.
Senior managing director and head of J.S Held spoke about the deal and stated that the addition of TBG Security will strengthen the firm’s ability to provide a depth of offensive solutions, as well as defensive response services to its clients.
#4. MNP purchases Southwestern Ontario accountancy Bailey Kearney Ferguson
MNP, a national accounting and consulting firm, has purchased the Wallaceburg, Ontario-based boutique accounting firm Bailey Kearney Ferguson.
Bailey Kearney Ferguson has been serving clients in Kent and Lambton counties for more than 50 years, under the direction of partners Steve Outridge and Kevin Sabourin. The company serves clients in the municipal, non-profit, insurance, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors with accounting and tax services.
The acquisition will enable MNP to strengthen its services for its clients. Moreover, Outridge and Sabourin will join MNP as partners as part of the transaction, along with a group of ten professionals.
#5. Metyis expands in France through the purchase of Southpigalle
Metyis has expanded and entered into the French market with the purchase of Southpigalle, a Parisian design and technology store with 25 employees.
Southpigalle, which was established in 2015, consists of a group of data scientists, technicians, developers, and artistic designers. The company assists clients from a variety of industries with planning digital change and then bringing concepts to life (with a focus on retail, e-commerce, luxury, and technology enterprises).
Metyis’s first purchase of 2022 gives the global advisory and technology firm access to Europe’s third largest economy. Moreover, this deal will enable Metyis to strengthen its network to existing and future business partners.
