Welcome back to another round-up of consulting M&A news! This week we’ll look at all the latest happenings including acquisitions by some of the biggest consulting companies in the world including Accenture and more. Let’s have a look at all the deals from the week gone by!

#1. Accenture buys banking tech consultancy SKS Group

Accenture has expanded its technology consulting services in the DACH region by acquiring SKS Group, a SAP consulting firm specializing in the banking industry.

SKS Group, which was founded in 1999, assists banks with the design, implementation, and management of SAP solutions for core banking services and analytics. In addition to risk, regulatory, and compliance services, SKS Group offers a number of proprietary solutions as well.

Accenture’s acquisition of SKS Group will strengthen its ability to transform the banks’ core business functions, allowing them to operate more efficiently, make better use of data, and develop new products more quickly.

#2. Financial services firm Catax acquires Granted Consultancy

Catax, a provider of financial services, has finalized its acquisition of Granted Consultancy. Catax has hired the innovation funding specialist for an undisclosed sum.

Granted Consultancy has its headquarters at the Clockwise Offices in Broadwalk House, in the heart of the city, in Exeter. Following the agreement, its team of over thirty employees will remain with the company.

The purchase of Granted Consultancy by Catax has further strengthened its operations, particularly in the Research & Development and innovation capabilities.

#3. Xebia strengthens data science practice with acquisition of Poland-based GetInData

Xebia, a multinational IT business firm, has boosted its workforce and strengthened its data science practice in Poland with the acquisition of GetInData.

GetInData, a company that was formed in 2014 by former Spotify employees, specializes in data science services and solutions, including big data, the cloud, analytics, and machine learning. Furthermore, the Warsaw-based company serves clients from a variety of industries, with Spotify, Truecaller, ING, and Kcell among its most recognizable clients.

Speaking about the deal, Xebia’s director stated that the company had always admired GetInData and the equal partnership between the two will help in delivering innovative, high-performing data solutions to clients all around the world.

#4. BDO boosts presence in northern Belgium with Cynex purchase

BDO, a professional services company, has expanded its footprint in Belgium by purchasing Cynex, a rival company with 40 employees headquartered in northern Limburg.

Cynex, a company based in Hasselt, aids in assisting mid-sized businesses and entrepreneurs with accountancy, taxation, financial advisory and legal services.

Speaking about the deal, the CEO of BDO stated that the acquisition of Cynex is another step in their growth story. Moreover, the deal will help the firm increase its standing in the financial and fiscal services in the Limburg region.

#5. Teneo buys London and Singapore based PR firm Tulchan

Teneo, a global consulting firm, has expanded its communications capabilities by acquiring Tulchan, a communications and public relations firm with offices in London and Singapore.

Tulchan, a communications and public relations company, which was founded in the year 2000 in the United Kingdom, provides public relations services including mergers & acquisitions, public offerings, and corporate reputation issues. Moreover, the team has well over 70 professionals with around 15 of them based in Singapore.

The acquisition of Tulchan by Teneo will help the firm expand the breadth and depth of its communications services in London, Singapore and all across the globe.

#6. Other consulting M&A deals

  • Isio buys Deloitte’s pensions advisory business
  • Align Capital Partners invests in data consultancy Cleartelligence
  • Argon & Co completes integration of Auckland-based Intent Group
  • Synechron integrates Australian payments consultancy Attra
